When we first heard the story of Borgo Argenina, we couldn’t believe it. Now cozy and perfectly maintained complex of five buildings dating 998 A.D. once was just a pile of rubble. Signora Elena discovered the hamlet for the first time in the autumn of 1991. In that time she lived in Milan and worked as a fashion designer. One year later she left her old life, moved to Borgo Argenina and started a long-lasting reconstruction of the building complex.
What Mrs. Elena created with her own hands and the help of local craftsmen in six years is the type of accommodation in Chianti that leaves you speachless. B&B Borgo Argenina is located on the top of the hill surrounded by magnificent scenery. The buildings has maintained the traditional Tuscan farmhouse stile with stone walls, vaulted ceilings, old beams and terracotta tiles.

All the guests at their arrival are welcomed with the smile of Elena Nappa, a glass of Chianti wine and typical local appetizers. The Villa Piccola as its name says is a „Small Villa“ of 138 sq.m. (452 sq.ft.) with one double room, one bathroom, spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen. The guests of the villa can enjoy a furnished garden with the beatuful views, tranquillity and the spirit of the ancient times. It is hard to believe that years ago this building was a barn and housed animals. Now it‘s one of the favourite places to stay between the guests of B&B Borgo Argenina.
But that’s not all what we were wondering about. Signora Elena offers cooking classes for her guests. While tasting local Chianti wine you will cook all together with her delicious dinner in Tuscan style. Only the kitchen, its authentic furniture and atmosphere, is worth your attention. Most of products you will use are called “0KM”, it means that they are grown-up in the garden of B&B Borgo Argenina or provided by local farmers.
