Christmas markets in TuscanyAlready in November, the towns and cities of Tuscany are starting to dress up for the biggest feast of the year. Typical colors and flawors of the Christmas period invade the entire region, creating an atmosphere full of magic. Christmas villages and markets are waiting for the visitors.

Chianciano Terme, 6 November – 27 December. The town transformes into the Santa Claus village. Sets made of lights, trees, stars and the “Polar Express” will guide visitors through a magical world. The highlights of the village will be the home of Santa Claus with many activities for children and the Christmas market.

Montecatini Alto and Montecatini Terme, 6 November – 6 January. The medieval village of Montecatini Alto will prepare a „Small Enchanted Kingdom“, where children could spend the day in the company of the most famous fairy tale characters. The spa town of Montecatini Terme, will host the Santa Claus House, elves, workshops, performances, clowns, circus and much more.

Montepulciano, 21 November – 6 January. The medieval town will host the „Christmas Village“, Piazza Grande, piazzetta Danesi and Via San Donato will be full of wooden houses and Christmas decorations. Original products for sale, street food and shows will ensure the good time. For the little ones there will also be mini pony ranch and the Castle of Santa, housed within the medieval fortress.

Monteriggioni, 8, 13 and 20 December. Christmas Village with Christmas market and activities for the whole family.

San Casciano dei Bagni, 5-8 December. Christmas market with ciaffagnone, chestnuts, wine, special children’s activities and more.

Palazzuolo sul Senio, 6, 8, 13 and 20 December. Piazza IV Novembre square is the heart of the Christmas market with stalls selling gifts and typical Italian products. Christmas carols, colorful lanterns, street artists, entertainment for adults and children and the path of „100 Cribs for Palazzuolo” (open 6 December – 6 January).

Chiusi della Verna, 20-27 December. The first edition of the Christmas market and of the House of Santa Claus. Many activities: Christmas cakes, cribs, music, dances, games for children and adults, food stands and handmade gifts.

Lucignano, 20 December. Christmas market offers cribs, wooden toys, rag dolls, Christmas ornaments and handcrafted gifts, traditional sweets, truffles and pecorino cheese, honey and jams.

Abbadia San Salvatore, 5 December – 6 January. The small town will host beautiful Christmas market, concerts, and on the night of 24 December the construction of the Axes of Christmas will be lit up.

Carrara, 26-29 November. Carrara Christmas Village.

Viareggio, 28-29 November. Food stands and craft of Carinthia, the twin city of Maromme and typical products of Villadoro.


Piazza Santa Croce Square, 2-20 December. Weihnachtsmarkt, the traditional German Christmas market in Florence. Scent of tasty german food, hot wine, stalls filled with handmade gifts from all over the Euerope.

ObiHall, 4-6 December. Christmas market. One part of the incomes will be donated to the Red Cross.

Piazza Santissima Annunziata Square, 8 December. Christmas market.

Largo Pietro Annigoni, 8 December – 6 January. Santa’s Village.

Palazzo Corsini Palace, 18-20 December. NataleperFile (Fondazione Italiana di Leniterapia) is the perfect opportunity to find a special gift. There will be many exhibitors including big brands, shops and artisans of the area. One part of the incomes will be donated to the FILE.

Piazza Santo Spirito Square, 20 December. Christmas market.


Palazzo dei Congressi Palace, 4-8 December. The palace will host the „Factory of Santa Claus”, the best pre-Christmas festival for children with elves, circus, art workshops, puppet theater and many more.

Logge dei Banchi and Via dei Banchi, XXX. many stalls will offer local crafts, toys, Christmas decorations, sweets and gourmet products.


Piazza del Campo Square, 5-6 December. One of the most beautiful squares in Italy will host the “Big market” of the fourteenth century. There will be over 150 stalls with typical products of Siena and other Italian regions.
