The city center of Florence has been inscribed on UNESCO’s prestigious World Heritage List. But there are many stunning monuments outside the down town, such as San Marco and its surroundings. San Marco is the name of a religious complex in Florence, Italy. It comprises a church and a convent. The convent, which is now a museum, has three claims to fame. During the 15th century it was home to two famous Dominicans, the painter Fra Angelico and the preacher Girolamo Savonarola. Also housed at the convent is a famous collection of manuscripts in a library built by Michelozzo.

Accommodation in Florence, Piazza San Marco zone, has many positive sides. It‘s very near the city center (Duomo, Accademia Gallery, Palazzo Medici Riccardi). The zone is quite and well connected with the railway station, other quartiers of the city and Fiesole thanks to the bus service. You can come there with your car. In this zone you can find a lot of medium-high level hotels, apartments and B&B for reasonable price.

On the other hand accommodation in Florence Piazza San Marco zone has few negative sides, like a lot of schools nearby, which means noise in the morning. Less restaurants and bars in this zone.
