Wedding in Tuscany

Tuscany is a region of traditions, and wedding day is one of the most important traditions, so important that is often called “il giorno più bello”… the most beautiful day… Indeed it’s not a surprise that Tuscany is ranked 1° in Italy (and one of the favorite in the world) as a destination for wedding tourism.

This is what is clearly emerged from the Destination wedding planners congress 2016, which was held in Florence this week. The spouses come mainly from UK and USA and the favorites locations are villas, castles and farmhouse in Chianti.

If you are looking for an awesome place to say “yes”, Tuscany could be the perfect choice, and we can add some tips to make your experience even more satisfying. There are plenty of choices for those who want to get married in Tuscany, from backpackers to music superstar or royal family members. But no matter how big is your budget: you will have your lifetime experience here in Tuscany.

Florence is the easiest choice, but we recommend you to avoid it in July and August, because of the humid heat that can make your wedding in Tuscany very uncomfortable. Also avoid to drive in the city during working hours: there are a lot of offices across the main streets. It is better to choose a place outside the city like Piazzale Michelangelo or Fiesole.

We believe Pisa could be very good alternative: Piazza dei Miracoli and its leaning tower is an amazing place to take some astonishing pictures and it is not far from the seaside, which can add some extras to the wedding party! Indeed some of the most famous resort towns are just few miles away from Pisa, and we are not just talking about beaches. In Viareggio, for example, Villa Argentina has reopened to visitors and it is perfect for a luxury wedding in Tuscany. This villa is a historical liberty style building, fully restored and brought back to its ancient beauty.

If the XIXth century is not your favorite epoch and you would like to go back in time, you can rent a whole castle or an entire medieval village. There are many choices in “Chiantishire” between Siena and Florence. You could enjoy the Tuscan countryside, take a walk in cypress alleys, and enjoy your special wedding day in Tuscany, the best wedding destination in the world.
