cantineChianti Classico è… In the end of May lovers of the black rooster wine can enjoy ten days of wine tastings and culture at Chianti Classico è…, which is focused on Chianti Classico wines and held in Greve in Chianti and surrounding towns. On Thursday, the festival starts at about 5 pm, and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at about 11 am and the stands close at about 8 pm. GustaRufina. GustaRufina wine festival is held on May, and it celebrates Chianti Rufina wines, conveniently takes place in Florence. The grand finale is a concert at the Pergola Theatre in three acts (for three types of wine). Calici di Stelle. Every year in town squares and wineries all over Italy on August 10, the night of the shooting stars, wine lovers raise their glasses for the most-anticipated toast of the summer. Cantine aperte. Arguably the most important event in Italy for wine lovers is the Cantine Aperte. In the end of May, some 1,000 wine cellars across the country open their doors and offer visitors the opportunity to taste the region’s premier wines with a direct experience in the cellar. Visitors can learn about wine production and food pairings along with tours of cellars.
