These Blue Flag beaches in Tuscany 2015 were rewarded not only for the clean and beautiful sea but also for other environmental indicators, like the services offered to swimmers, green areas, pedestrian and bicycle paths. The Blue Flag works towards sustainable development of beaches and marinas through strict criteria dealing with Water Quality, Environmental Education and Information, Environmental Management, and Safety and Other Services.
In 2012 FEE awarded 16 beaches in Tuscany with the Blue Flag label, in 2013 – 17 Tuscan beaches, in 2014 – 18 Tuscan beaches, 2015 – 18 best Tuscan beaches!
